Philosophy

Mallow Day Care is a profit centre.  Our goal is to provide the opportunity for children to develop socially, emotionally, and physically.  Each child is a unique individual and our specially trained Staff recognized this and provides activities through play experiences that will enhance every aspect of the child’s development.

We provide a safe and healthy environment where the child’s curiosity and self-esteem is stimulated.  The bright and warm surrounding fosters the child’s independence and decision – making capabilities.  Through the warmth and nurturing of the caring staff, the child learns to interact and respect others.

Our bright and pleasant classrooms are organized into various activity centre which help to foster the child’s communication skills and promote his or her curiosity to explore.  The safety of each child is of paramount importance and this is taken into consideration when equipment is chosen and activities are planned.  The equipment, rooms and toys are regularly sanitized and always kept clean.  Our main aim is to keep our children safe and happy and at the same time promote their health and development through both indoor and outdoor play.

Program Development

Programs are re-evaluated regularly to reflect changes within the Day Nurseries Act and ideologies on Early Childhood education.  The centre is able to maintain communication with parents through verbal interaction, posted programs, parent information bulletin boards and notices.  Parents are welcome to set up times with staff/supervisor if they have concerns about the child’s developmental progress.  Our staff may also with consent able to direct parents to appropriate community programs for their child.

Specialized Services

If a child’s not meeting the developmental stages, an observation is made and the supervisor will make an appointment to meet with the parents.

1. First the supervisor and one of the staff who is directly involved with the child will meet with the parents and discuss their concerns.
2. Then the supervisor will make a request for their child to be look at by their family doctor concerning their child’s developmental growth.
3. With parental consent we will assist them in obtaining community resources:  such as Adventure Place.

It is the Parents responsibility to look after any cost incurred for the consultation.

Ages of Children

Mallow Day Care Centre has facilities to accommodate the following children:

32 Preschoolers (20% younger or older is permissible)

Days and Hours of Operation

Both full time and part – time care is provided 52 weeks each year.

1. Full- time care is offered between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., five days a week.
2. Part-time care is offered as follows:

1. Four days a week, or less
2. 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., five days a week or
3. 1:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., five days a week
